Hot Tub Use, Safety & Hygiene Policy
For the safety, hygiene, comfort and wellbeing of all guests, the following rules apply to anyone using the hot tub at Lumière Hammam & Spa.
By entering or using the hot tub, guests agree to comply with this policy and with any additional safety or hygiene instructions provided by Lumière Hammam & Spa staff.
Hygiene Requirements
- Guests must shower thoroughly with soap and water before entering the hot tub. Guests may also be required to shower again before re-entry where necessary, particularly after using other spa facilities or receiving treatments.
- Clean and appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times.
- For hygiene and water-quality purposes, guests must not use the hot tub whilst menstruating. We kindly ask guests to refrain from hot tub use until menstruation has ended.
- Guests must not enter the hot tub if they are experiencing diarrhoea, vomiting, a contagious or infectious illness, an infectious skin condition, open wounds, sores, uncovered cuts or any other condition which could present a hygiene or infection risk to themselves or other guests.
- Please remove make-up, fake tan, body oils, lotions, creams and similar cosmetic products before entering the hot tub wherever reasonably possible, as these products can adversely affect the cleanliness and quality of the water.
- Soap, shampoo, bath products, essential oils, salts or any other products or substances must not be added to the hot tub.
Safe Use of the Hot Tub
- Please enter and exit the hot tub slowly and carefully. Floors and surrounding surfaces may be wet and slippery.
- Running, jumping, diving, pushing, horseplay or any other unsafe behaviour in or around the hot tub is strictly prohibited.
- Guests must not deliberately submerge their head beneath the water.
- For your safety, we recommend limiting each continuous period in the hot tub to approximately 15 minutes, followed by sufficient time to cool down before re-entering. Guests should also ensure that they remain adequately hydrated.
- Guests must not use the hot tub if the displayed water temperature exceeds 40°C. If you have any concerns regarding the temperature of the water, please leave the hot tub and notify a member of staff.
- If at any point you feel dizzy, faint, nauseous, unusually tired, overheated, short of breath or otherwise unwell, you must leave the hot tub immediately and inform a member of staff.
- Guests must not fall asleep in the hot tub.
Hot Tub Temperature & Display Controls
- The hot tub temperature is set by authorised Lumière Hammam & Spa staff at a designated temperature in accordance with the spa’s safety and operational requirements.
- Guests must not alter, adjust or attempt to change the hot tub temperature using the display controls or control panel.
- The temperature is intentionally set by staff to remain within the required safe operating range. Guests must therefore not increase or decrease the temperature themselves, even if they would personally prefer the water to be warmer or cooler.
- Guests must also not alter, override or interfere with any other settings, controls or programmes accessible through the hot tub display or control panel unless specifically instructed to do so by a member of staff.
- If the water feels too hot or too cold, or you believe there may be an issue with the temperature or hot tub settings, please inform a member of staff. Only authorised staff may make adjustments to the temperature or other restricted settings.
Alcohol, Drugs & Medication
- The hot tub must not be used whilst under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs or any other substance which may impair judgement, balance, coordination or awareness.
- Guests taking medication which may cause drowsiness, affect blood pressure or circulation, or otherwise make hot tub use unsuitable should seek appropriate medical advice before using the facility.
- Lumière Hammam & Spa reserves the right to refuse hot tub access to any person whom staff reasonably believe may be intoxicated or otherwise unable to use the facility safely.
Medical Conditions & Pregnancy
- Guests who are pregnant, elderly, have heart disease, cardiovascular problems, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, circulatory problems, respiratory conditions, epilepsy or another significant or long-term medical condition should seek advice from their doctor or an appropriate healthcare professional before using the hot tub.
- Guests who have recently undergone surgery, are receiving medical treatment or are otherwise unsure whether hot tub use is suitable for them should obtain appropriate medical advice before use.
- Guests are responsible for considering their individual health and medical circumstances before entering the hot tub.

- Guests must not permit a person under the age of 16 to enter or use the hot tub, even when accompanied or supervised by an adult.
MAXIMUM CAPACITY
- A maximum of four people may use the hot tub at any one time.
- Where more than four guests are attending together, guests must take turns and must not exceed the stated maximum capacity.

- Food and drinks must not be consumed in or immediately around the hot tub.
- Glass bottles, drinking glasses or any other glass or breakable items are strictly prohibited in the hot tub area.

- Sexual activity or inappropriate intimate behaviour is not permitted in the hot tub or surrounding hot tub area.
- Guests must not tamper or interfere with the hot tub, its control panel, temperature settings, filters, jets, drains, covers, water-treatment equipment, electrical equipment or any other component of the facility.
- Any fault, damage, unusual water condition or safety concern must be reported to a member of staff immediately.
STAFF INSTRUCTIONS & RIGHT TO REFUSE USE
- All reasonable instructions given by Lumière Hammam & Spa staff regarding the safe and hygienic use of the hot tub must be followed.
- Management reserves the right to temporarily close the hot tub or refuse, suspend or terminate a guest’s use of the facility where reasonably necessary for health, hygiene, safety, maintenance, water-quality, operational or behavioural reasons.
- Guests who fail to comply with this policy, including guests who interfere with the temperature or other hot tub controls, may be instructed to leave the hot tub immediately and may be refused further use of the facility.
